Invitation of the Orthodox Jewish Community of Sopron sent to the leadership and members of the Neolog Jewish Community of the city to a celebration event greeting Rabbi Manó Grünwald on the occasion of his 50 year anniversary in this position - 18 August, 1922
This document tells about the cordial relations between the two wings of Jewish communities in Sopron. The original community was established in 1858 due to the fact that considerable number of Jews arrived in the city only after 1840 when free migration had been permitted. While in 1837 only 37, in 1869 already 854 Jews resided in Sopron. In 1890 1632 Jewish inhabitants lived there. The two wings were formed after the 1868-1869 General Jewish Congress. It was 1872 when the more traditional orthodox wing came into existence with Manó Grünwald as its first rabbi.
