APEx Closing Conference

Budapest, 7-9 September 2015

The main focus of the archival community in the 21st century is on long term preservation, reuse of electronic collections and databases, also spreading throughout the archival information in a much wider spectrum of the society.

In 2015 September Budapest will be the host city of one of the most significant event within the archival community: the closing conference of Archives Portal Europe network of eXcellence (APEx) project supported by the European Commission.

The Archives Portal Europe (APE) is a success story of the European Archives' cooperation. The portal has become the main platform where European archives present themselves, their holdings and their treasures. Archives Portal Europe has been created and enhanced through years of collective development not only internationally interoperable standards and tools in order to manage and publish complex data of archives across Europe in a high level, but also laid the foundations for long-term sustainable infrastructure. Think in terms of cultural openness, as a pan-European aggregator, the Archives Portal Europe provides archival data to Europeana. The continuity of the project is ensured by the Archives Portal Europe Foundation (APE-F), after the completion of the APEX project.

In the focus of the three-day conference will be not only the outcomes and achievements of APEx project which have already been accomplished, but future strategic questions of the archives such as reuse of data, international digitization projects, innovative approaches of service providing and preservation will be also discussed.

Such sectoral professionals and leaders, market participants and managers will attend the conference, whose strategy is the long term preservation of information, and whose services have a high priority.

APEx zárókonferencia

A 21. századi levéltárak érdeklődésének középpontjában az elektronikusan feldolgozott és digitalizált gyűjteményeik hosszú távú megőrzése, mind szélesebb körben történő közzététele és sokoldalú felhasználásának biztosítása áll.

2015. szeptemberben a magyar főváros, Budapest ad helyet az európai levéltári szakma egyik legjelentősebb eseményének, az Európai Bizottság által támogatott Archives Portal Europe network of eXcellence (APEx) projekt zárókonferenciájának.

Az Archives Portal Europe (Európai Levéltári Portál) az európai levéltárak összefogásának sikertörténete. A portál  különböző európai országok levéltári anyagához, gyűjteményeihez és különleges kincseihez biztosít hozzáférést. A projekt nemcsak nemzetközileg átjárható szabványokat és eszközöket fejlesztett, melyekkel a portálon keresztül magas színvonalon szolgáltatja a levéltári intézmények sokféle tartalmait, hanem a hosszútávon fenntartható infrastruktúra alapjait is lefektette. Az Archives Portal Europe a kulturális nyitottság jegyében páneurópai aggregátorként levéltári adatot szolgáltat az Europeana felé. A projekt folyamatosságát az APEx projekt lezárását követően az Archives Portal Europe Foundation (APE-F) biztosítja.

A három napos rendezvény fókuszában az APEx projekt eredményeinek bemutatása mellett az archívumok jövőjének stratégiai kérdései - az adatok újrahasznosíthatósága, a nemzetközi digitalizálási trendek, az adatszolgáltatás és megőrzés innovatív megközelítései - állnak.

A konferencián olyan ágazati szakemberek, vezetők és a piaci részt szereplők is részt vesznek, akiknek stratégiájukban az információ hosszú távú megőrzése, és szolgáltatása kiemelt jelentőségű.
