-supervising the professional activity, personnel policy and office management of the Department of Business Archives, the Department of Post-1945 Political Government Agencies, the Records of the Hungarian Working People’s Party (MDP) and the Hungarian Social Workers’ Party (MSZMP), the Department of Post-1945 Economic Government Agencies, the Department of Government Records Service and the Department of Informatics and Management; reporting on their annual work schedules and accounts
-taking preliminary steps in connection with the operation and professional activity of departments supervised by the Deputy Director General II.; overseeing the execution of assignments
-representing occasionally the Archives at national and international professional programmes on behalf of the Director General
